ISM eCompany realizes new webshop
platform for TNT Post
TNT Post has asked ISM eCompany to enhance the
business web shop of TNT Post, internally also called Mail-order.
Mailorder is specifically aimed at the retail segment and makes it
possible to order several stamp products and other products online.
The new web shop of Mailorder is the first of many to have gone
Live. ISM eCompany has been asked to realize a new eCommerce
platform for the three different parties which order stamps online:
retailers, consumers and stamp collectors
Choosing ISM eCompany
Amongst the most important features of the new eCommerce platform
are stability and robustness. In the past the capacity of the old
web shop only could handle 300 users at the same time. Resulting in
missed profit at peak times. Huub Rulkens, Business Development
Manager at TNT Post explains: "After some thorough research we
finally decided to go ahead with ISM eCompany. The reliable
projects of ISM eCompany in the past and mostly the solid
experience of the team of ISM eCompany as a important and reliable
player in eCommerce have been very important to us."
Solution
For the target audience Retail the team of ISM eCompany –
with support from creative partner GuiltyPeople for the design
– have developed a web shop based on Sana Commerce which is
linked to the already existing SAP-system and payment system at TNT
Post. This is particularly important for an optimal link between
customer and order data. Beside stability and robustness of the
platform, also a rise in conversion was a goal of the new
platform.
Results
With the eCommerce platform not only the capacity of the renewed
stabile platform has been raised, but also the order process for
the end-user has been made more user-friendly. Huub Rulkens: "The
new web shop is easier to find and the customer can be helped in a
clearer way. Also the process of keeping the Sana front office
up-to-date has been significantly improved – from several
weeks in the past to several hours in the new situation. In the
future the conversion can be raised even further, through new
functionalities such as the top 10 bestsellers, You bought product
X, others also bought Y and Z and the check out sales."
Challenge
It was a big challenge to launch the renewed web shop in the peak
period before Christmas. Huub Rulkens: "What was essential to this
process was the good quality of support and technical efficiency as
we tried to launch our first web shop. The link with the back
office and the link with the excisting SAP-system are of great
importance, also for our future web shops." To safely launch the
web shop a security scan was done and this was done successfully.
So the use of the web shop in the future can be viewed with
confidence.
Future
Huub Rulkens: "The first webshop has been built for Retail, because
this target group is simply most important from a profit point of
view. With this we have also lain down a solid base for the other
two web shops we will be building for our other two target groups,
mainly the consumer and the stamp collector. This focused marketing
on specific segments asks for specific web formulas with a specific
approach."
In the next phase new features like XML-feeds and usability
improvements will be released. With the new platform also the web
shops for the consumers and the stamp collectors will be
realized.
Thus ISM eCompany helps in the specific marketing based on the
three target groups. Thus far ISM eCompany has realized the
platform for the group retail with success and to the satisfaction
of TNT Post. Huub Rulkens: "It has become clear that the specific
customer attention and the adequate support from the ISM-Team are
very valuable and can offer optimal results in busy periods."
